# Work Management

Sensei IQ includes built-in timesheet and work visibility features so team members can log actual hours and see their assignments — without leaving Microsoft 365. Combined with the My Work view, it gives every team member a single place to see what they need to do and record the time they spend doing it.

## Timesheet Entry

Team members submit timesheets against their current projects or assignments. The process is straightforward:

- **My Timesheet view** — Each team member has a personal timesheet view showing their current projects and open periods
- **Period-based submission** — Timesheets are submitted by period (typically weekly), with clear open/submitted/approved status
- **Project or assignment level** — Time can be logged at the project level or against specific assignments, depending on your configuration
- **Non-project time** — Team members can also log non-project time (e.g., leave, training, admin) to give a complete picture of how capacity is consumed

## Approval Workflow

Submitted timesheets go through a structured approval process before actuals are committed to reporting:

- Timesheet managers review and approve timesheets for their team
- Rejected timesheets are returned to the submitter with comments
- Approval status is tracked and visible in timesheet reports

## Actuals vs. Plan

Once timesheets are approved, these actuals can be imported into the Project Financials to allow easy viewing of these costs alongside other project costs.

- **Effort tracking** — Compare planned hours vs. actual hours per resource and project
- **Financial actuals** — When cost rates are configured, actual hours x rate = actual cost, compared against budget
- **Sell rates & margin** — If sell rates are configured, utilization reports can show revenue, cost, and margin side by side

## Timesheet Reporting

Time tracking data is surfaced in the Resource IQ Insights Power BI report alongside all other resource data:

| Timesheet Actuals | Actual hours by resource, project, and period — with drill-through into Work, Cost, Sell, and Margin views |
| Non Project Time | Non-project time entries (leave, training, admin) across the resource pool |
| Actuals Variance | Difference between timesheet actual hours and committed request hours |

These reports update automatically as timesheets are submitted and approved — no manual data exports required.
