Sensei IQ Roadmap

This document provides a peek into what's next for Sensei IQ. It captures some of the significant features we are currently committed to, and a rough time-frame for when you can expect to see them. It is not a comprehensive list of all new features, but is intended to provide some visibility into our key investments.

2024 Q4	Premium Connectors to new external Task Management Systems We'll support Task and Project Sync from Smartsheet so that you can view the synced data from this system inside Sensei IQ and report time against these projects and tasks on your timesheet. 2024 Q4	Improvements to Resource Management We're working hard to improve the performance of the Resource Request Grid views. These views handle a lot of data, and we understand that the load times for certain data sets could be improved. "Add Request" gets an uplift with the ability to specify 'Start', 'Finish' and 'Total Hours' and have the request added to the system. Optional setting to limit timesheet approval to timesheet manager (or delegate) only. We've made changes to the capacity calculation plugin to offer organizations with larger resource pools options to effectively calculate the capacity for the resources required.
2024 Q4	Financials Improvements We're adding a quick and easy option to export project financial data within view in an on-demand fashion for easy manipulation in Excel. Clients have said that they would like the ability to customize variance calculation and hide cost types, so we're making that configurable as well. We heard that some organizations use financial items in various ways and having tooltips on these rows that are customizable would assist in getting a full picture of the item and it's metadata.
2025 Q1	Change to Report Embedding Methods Microsoft has released new methods for embedding Power BI reports and dashboards inside model-driven apps. We plan on moving to these newer methods which allow for seamless authentication, quick and easy access to other embedded reports and consolidation of the reports into the solutions themselves.
2025 Q1	Continued Improvements to Resource Management Feedback from UserBack from our clients including new filter option, tooltip improvements, and customizable color formatting and view based on target capacity. We are adding new features to assist Sensei IQ administrators perform their task of setting up and managing calendar exceptions on Enterprise Calendars more efficiently.
2025 Q1	Sensei IQ Configuration to support Copilot and AI We're looking at the Microsoft supported methods to improve Copilot's intelligence within Sensei IQ without moving your data or incurring additional licensing costs.
TBD	Project-Centric Dashboard Projects get a new default dashboard to better track progress during project execution. The dashboard provides improved visibility into the artifacts of the projects and helps highlight any exceptions.
On-going	User Experience Improvements and Updates based on Feedback Ongoing improvements received through UserBack channels. Bug fixes and issues reported by clients.

Improvements to Resource Management It's even easier to navigate to the start of resource requests with our new "Scroll to Start" option for requests, groupings (like project and resource) and overall (navigating the Resource Manager to the first proposed request they need to action). We've added a feature to enable Team Members to add their own calendar exceptions for things like vacation, jury duty and other planned non-working time. To help with visualization of Resource time off - we've added a new view to the "Resource Details" drill-through page to show enterprise and personal calendar exceptions in a calendar view so Resource Managers can stay on top of non-working time for their resources.

2024 Q2	Improvements to Strategy IQ We are focusing on improving the experience when working with Strategic Themes and Goals and their relationship to Projects. New features and streamlined processes are coming to simplify Strategic Planning in Sensei IQ.
2024 Q2	Key Date Dependencies Key Dates will provide a way to link together projects that may depend on one another. We'll provide intuitive methods for creating these dependencies and reviewing exceptions where dates might be slipping.
2024 Q1	Better Visibility into Request timelines We've added the request start and request finish to the resource demand tooltips. Earliest start and latest finish will roll-up to the project/resource summary rows in the demand interfaces.
2024 Q1	Artifact Visualization Filtering We've added an "Active Status" filter to Risks, Issues, Deliverables and Decisions so that users will only see counts of items that are considered "active". Cross filter the risks list by clicking cells in the risk matrix.
2024 Q1	Timesheet enhancements New limits are available to help govern timesheet submission. User experience improvements, including new filter, new form tab, and slight adjustments in page layout. Timesheet period auditing functionality is now available to administrators.
2023 Q4	Reporting Uplift - Upgrade Dataverse Connector Upgraded data connector in all Power BI reports to remain current, facilitate better access to related data and reduce query complexity. No significant visualization changes at this time.
2023 Q4	Idea Approval Flow Ideas can now be submitted for approval by the challenge sponsor. Approved ideas will become business cases to continue their governance lifecycle.
2023 Q3	Project Prioritization Allow for a scoring and straightforward prioritization of Projects in Sensei IQ. Portfolio Managers will be able to evaluate priority scores, cost and effort when determining which project(s) to select in time-phased planning processes.
2023 Q3	My Projects in Sensei IQ (Project Manager Experience) Similar to the 'My Work' Experience for Team Members, this experience pivots to the Project Manager viewpoint and will offer a consolidated view of the items a Project Manager needs to focus on within the timeframe specified. The easy-to-use interface will allow for quick updates to many of the items and provide key insights into the items as a whole.
2023 Q2	My Work in Sensei IQ (Team Member Experience) Team Members will see all their actionable content in a single location and be able to edit or link to these. Experience is also mobile enabled for access on tablets. Shows tasks from Project for the web, Project Online, Planner, Azure DevOps and Jira. Shows project ‘deliverables’, ‘issues’, ‘risks’, ‘decisions’ and ‘change requests’ that are either assigned to the user or created by the user.
2023 Q2	Business Case Project Type The ‘Proposals’ functionality is being merged into the ‘Project’ entity to provide for a richer experience that is better integrated into the project lifecycle. Implemented as a ‘Business Case’ project type, it adds support for Microsoft 365 Group integration enabling collaboration in Microsoft Teams with users from the existing group. Also adds support for key dates, financials, documents, deliverables, status updates, risks, issues, changes, decisions and lessons. Provides an automated cloud flow for approvals of business cases to convert to other project types.
2023 Q2	Multi-Project Paginated Status Report Many clients require a way to show/print a status report that could include multiple projects at once. Users will be able to select a portfolio or program and create a multi-page status report that includes all projects associated to that portfolio or program. This new report utilizes the recently released paginated report functionality of Power BI.
2023 Q1	Infrastructure Refresh We're moving to US-based infrastructure for managing the peripheral components of Sensei IQ. See communications from Sensei Client Care for more details.
2022 Q2	Rapid Sync for Planner We've introduced integration with Microsoft Planner, which includes rapid task synchronisation and minimal configuration.
2022 Q2	Financial enhancements We've enhanced Sensei IQ's financial features, so you can more easily report on and plan for the finances of your projects.
2021 Q2	Timesheets Addition of timesheet management including approval processes, allowing organizations to track time spent for resources on projects and non-project work.
2021 Q2	Resource Management Improvements to enable the planning of resources at a project level, including capacity calendars, resource requests and approvals, team demand heatmaps, cost and sell rates and timesheets.
2021 Q1	Task Sync Ability to connect and import task level information from external systems into IQ Schedule tasks, allowing organizations to benefit from additional functionality provided in Sensei IQ. Resource Management Bookable Resources additional fields to accomodate Resource Requests and Approvals. Execution Tool Adoption Project level connectivity to Jira Core. Proejct level Connectivity to Azure DevOps. Improvements to the New Project experience, making it easier to create projects connected to external projects.
2021 Q1	Linking Sensei IQ to multiple external execution tools, including Project Online and Project For The Web.
