Resource Management
Knowing who is available, what they're working on, and whether you have the capacity to take on new work is one of the hardest problems in PPM. Sensei IQ gives resource managers and department leads a clear, real-time picture of capacity and demand across the organization.
Resource Availability
Sensei IQ tracks availability at the individual resource level, accounting for all committed work — not just what's been entered in one tool.
- Enterprise calendars — Configure working hours, public holidays, and non-working time at the enterprise or individual level
- Capacity view — See each resource's available capacity across any time horizon, broken down by week or month
- Request-based availability — Availability reflects resource requests vs. capacity, independent of tasks and assignments — so you get a true demand picture even when working with tools that don't have the concept of effort
- Generic resources — Model capacity for roles or teams before named individuals are assigned, enabling early-stage demand planning
- External resources — Track the availability and utilization of contractors and vendors alongside your internal staff
Resource Requests & Allocations
Sensei IQ provides a structured process for project managers to request resources and for resource managers to evaluate and fulfill those requests.
- Resource requests — Project managers submit formal requests specifying the role, required skills, effort, and timing
- Demand vs. capacity — Resource managers see incoming demand against available capacity in a single view
- Allocation decisions — Approve, modify, or decline requests with tracked decision history
- Named resource assignment — Convert approved requests into firm allocations once resources are confirmed
- Allocation variance — Track the difference between what was planned and what was actually committed
Cross-Portfolio View
Unlike tools that only see work within a single project management system, Sensei IQ aggregates resource demand and utilization across your entire work management ecosystem. A resource manager sees the full picture — regardless of whether a team member's tasks are in Jira, Planner, or Asana.
